Bequest Language

A bequest is one of the simplest ways to remember those you care about most. If a person wishes to make a charitable gift by will to the Archdiocese, a parish, Catholic school, or one of the charitable organizations of the Archdiocese, they should follow these steps.

  1. Meet with their personal legal counsel and discuss their wish to make a gift by will.
  2. Instruct the attorney or legal counsel to include the following language in the will or codicil:
"To His Eminence Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, Archbishop of Galveston- Houston, and his successors in office or assigns, for the use and benefit of _____________________________________, _____________, (the Archdiocese, parish, school, or charitable org) (city) ________________,TX." (county)
  3. Inform the Development office of the Archdiocese of the pending gift. We value the opportunity to thank the donor for their generosity.
